The DI encourages its faculty members to apply for and execute research funding from reputable grant agencies located around the world. The following is a list of funding sources that faculty members could consider.

Qatar National Research Fund (QNRF) is the premiere research funding organization in the State of Qatar. The fund's mission is "to advance knowledge and education by providing funding opportunities for original competitively selected research and development at all levels and across all disciplines with emphasis on the four pillars of the Qatar National Research Strategy (QNRS)." One of the pillars of the QNRS is Social Sciences, Arts and Humanities. QNRF offers funding opportunities through a variety of programs some of which are listed below.

National Priorities Research Program​​​ (NPRP)

The National Priorities Research Program (NPRP) is the flagship funding program of QNRF and the primary means by which it seeks to support research that addresses Qatar's needs. The objective of the program is to competitively select research projects that will address national priorities through supporting basic and applied research as well as translational research/experimental development. The NPRP request for applications occurs once per year and is currently on its 10th cycle.

OSRA Research Grant

The Doha International Family Institute (DIFI) and the Qatar National Research Fund (QNRF) launched the OSRA research grant in 2015. The goal of this grant is to encourage research on families, marriage and parenting that contributes to the development of evidence-based policies and programs to promote the well-being of Arab families. The OSRA request for applications occurs once per year and is currently on its 2nd cycle.

Conference and Workshop Sponsorship Program (CWSP)

The program offers funding to organize conferences and workshops to connect researchers in Qatar with their peers and colleagues, both at home and abroad. The programs aims to expose new research directions, findings, and education techniques in a variety of topics. The CWSP request for applications occurs approximately every quarter.
