Recruiting and admitting students to Ph.D. studies at the institute aim to attract the best students academically on the national, regional, and international levels.

Students are admitted based on the principle of academic competition among applicants.


Admission Conditions

All applicants must fill in the online application form and submit, where indicated, all required and supporting documents. Please read the following admission requirements and conditions carefully and then go to the online application page

1- The applicant must have earned a Bachelor's degree in the field of specialization or a related field, with a GPA of no less than 3.20, and a master's degree or its equivalent with a GPA of no less than 3.50 out of 4.00 (or its equivalent) from an accredited university recognized by the Ministry of Education and Higher Education in Qatar, and in a specialization related to the research field to which the candidate is applying.

2- The applicant must prove that his study was regularly conducted (Full time study) to obtain the bachelor's and master's degrees.

3- The applicant must be able to study and research academically in Arabic with a measure of English language proficiency.

4- Applicants can submit one application only. duplicate applications will be disregarded.


Admission Requirements

Once the online application form has been submitted in full, with all the required and supporting documents, the application will be assessed.

1- Copy of official identification (Passport for International students - Qatari ID for citizens and residents of Qatar).

2-  A bachelor's and master's degree certified by official authorities.

3- A bachelor's and master's transcripts certified by official authorities including all transferred courses if any.

4- A valid minimum IELTS academic score 6.5 or TOEFL iBt score 79. The English language requirement might be waived in the case of candidates who obtained degrees from, one of the universities endorsed by DI where English language is the official language of the instruction. 

5- A copy of the master's Thesis, Capstone, or a Research sample.

6- A statement of interest explaining your motivations for pursuing doctoral studies at the Doha Institute for Graduate Studies, and how your background and academic qualifications will contribute to your success in the program in which you intend to study, in addition to your future plans.

7- A preliminary doctoral dissertation proposal specifying your research interests and the fields that you intend to specialize in. 

8- A minimum of THREE reference letters from academics familiar with the applicant's work to be sent via the online application form.

9- Updated curriculum vitae (CV).
