On this occasion, Dr. Hend Al Muftah, VP for Administration and Finance stated that idea of launching an EMPA program at the DI stems from the need to develop national human capital in the field of public administration. 

The DI welcomed the first batch of students enrolled in the new Executive Master's in Public Administration program (EMPA), which has been designed to enhance leadership skills of executives working in the public sector in Qatar.  School of Public Administration and Development Economics organized an orientation for the 20 students who have been chosen out of 80 applicants on Saturday February 11, 2017. 

On this occasion, Dr. Hend Al Muftah, VP for Administration and Finance stated that idea of launching an EMPA program at the DI stems from the need to develop national human capital in the field of public administration.  In addition, she emphasized the need to prepare a generation of Qatari leaders who are capable of drafting and implementing policy the best serve Qatar and the Arab world.

On his part, Dr. Farid Alsahn, Head of the EMPA program mentioned that the program has been customized to accommodate the time constraints of executives in the public sector.  Students are expected to complete the degree requirements within 18 months.

The new EMPA program is among 4 programs offered at SPADE: Public Administration, Public Policy and Development Economics.
