 The Board adopted several academic decisions and policies, as well as the DI's financial policy. Later, Dr. Yasir Suleiman Malley, presented a detailed report about the progress of work at the DI. The Board agreed to hold their next meeting in October 2017 in Doha.

The Board of Trustees of the Doha Institute for Graduate Studies held its fifth meeting on Sunday, March 26, 2017 on campus.  The meeting was chaired by Dr. Azmi Bishara, Chair of the Board, and attended by all members: H.E. Sheikh Abdulla bin Ali Al-Thani, PhD, Vice Chair of the Board, Dr. Ahmad Dallal, Dr. Taher Kanaan, Dr. Laurie Brand, Dr. Dina Khoury, Dr. Roger Allen, Dr. Mohamed Al Rumaihi and Dr. Wail Benjelloun.  The meeting was also attended by Dr. Yasir Suleiman Malley, Acting President of the DI.

The Board discussed the agenda items of this meeting, and reviewed the decisions taken in their previous meeting.  The Board adopted several academic decisions and policies, as well as the DI's financial policy. The Board meeting was preceded by its committee meetings, that took place on campus Saturday, March 25, 2017, these included; the Academic Affairs Committee headed by Dr. Ahmad Dallal, and the Financial Affairs and Planning Committee headed by Dr. Wail Benjelloun in the attendance of Dr. Hend Al Muftah, VP of Administration and Finance and Mr. Ahmed Alemadi, Director of the Finance at the DI.

In addition, the Board met with a group of DI students from various programs to talk about their experiences at the DI, and their future plans after graduation. This meeting was also attended by Dr. Abdul-Rahim Benhadda, Dean of Student Affairs.
