The Doha Institute for Graduate Studies hosted an exciting celebration of National Sport Day on Sunday, 9 February 2020, featuring a variety of athletic and dynamic activities. The event, which is organized by the Security and Safety Department, comes in the context of the social responsibility of the Doha Institute on the one hand, and emphasizing the importance of sport, and implanting its concepts within the corridors of the Institute on the other hand.

The event featured different fun-filled activities, including the annual Doha Institute marathon, pull the rope game, cycling, squash and a football match between the Doha Institute and the College of North Atlantic, in addition to an introductory meeting about the boxing game presented by Qatar’s first professional boxer Sheikh Fahd bin Khalid Al-Thani, and other energetic sports activities.

The celebration witnessed the participation of a large number of Doha Institute employees, including faculty members and administrators in addition to students, who were able to engage in multiple sports activities, and interact with the programs and competitions that were held during that day.

On this occasion, the event's coordinator, Ms. Khadija Buhlaiqa, said, "The National Sport Day is an event in which we highlight many sports and health activities. The organization of such an event at the Doha Institute for Graduate Studies has become an annual tradition in line with Qatar National Vision 2030 on creating an interactive, active and healthy lifestyle. Therefore, we support this vision through our celebration, in which we were keen on exercising sports and physical activities in an atmosphere of entertainment, fun and positive contribution. "

It is noteworthy that the National Sport Day is officially celebrated on Tuesday of the second week of February in each year, embodying the goals of Emiri Decree No. (80) of 2011.
