The Board of Trustees of the Doha Institute for Graduate Studies held its seventh meeting on Sunday, March 11, 2018 on campus. The meeting was chaired by Dr. Azmi Bishara, Chair of the Board, and attended by H.E. Sheikh Abdulla bin Ali Al-Thani, PhD, Vice Chair of the Board; and the board members: Dr. Ahmad Dallal; Dr. Laurie Brand; Dr. Dina Khoury; Dr. Ebrahim Moosa; Dr. Wail Benjelloun; and the newest members, Dr. Khalil Hindi and Dr. Ghanim Alnajjar. The meeting was also attended by Dr. Yasir Suleiman Malley, Acting President of the DI.

In its meeting, the Board approved the agenda items and reviewed the measures undertaken following the decisions and recommendations of their previous meeting. The Board also discussed its standing committees’ recommendations, following their meetings, which were held on Saturday March 10, 2018: the Academic Affairs Committee, chaired by Dr. Ahmad Dallal, met to discuss a newly proposed Master's program in Strategic Studies, and also reviewed the updates on the establishment of a PhD degree at the DI; the Financial Affairs and Planning Committee, headed by Dr. Wail Benjelloun, met to review the 2018 Financial Budget. Following discussion, the Board adopted the recommendations of its standing committees.

During the meeting, the members of the Board also listened to the Institute Progress Report, presented by Dr. Yasir Suleiman Malley, who also presented a report on the DI Strategic Plan. Lastly, the Board reviewed the semi-annual Internal Auditor Report.

The next annual meeting of the DI Board of Trustees was scheduled to be held in Doha, October 2018.
