On Wednesday, March 30, 2022, the Doha Institute for Graduate Studies announced that the programs of "Political Science and International Relations", "Comparative Literature" and "Conflict Management and Humanitarian Action" have obtained official accreditation from the Foundation for International Business Administration Accreditation Germany (FIBAA).
In this context, Dr. Abdul-Wahab Al-Affandi, President of the Institute, said that the programs that obtained accreditation met all international quality standards, and achieved a degree of exceptional excellence in many of them. The President of the institute added that the international accreditation is a measure of confidence that the institute is on the right track, but it is not the end for us, because the journey of developing and strengthening the elements of quality assurance in these programs will continue.
For his part, Dr. Jad Kawtharani, Director of the Institutional Effectiveness and Quality Assurance Department at the Institute, said that the Doha Institute for Graduate Studies has so far obtained seven accreditations, five of which are from FIBBA, which are (Political Sciences and International Relations, Comparative Literature, Conflict Management and Humanitarian Work, Sociology and Anthropology, and Media Studies) and two accreditations from the American Network of Schools of Politics, Affairs and Public Administration (NASPAA), which are the Public Policy Program and the Public Administration Program.
It is worth noting that the program is the second to obtain NASPAA accreditation in the Middle East. Kawtharani added that the Doha Institute for Graduate Studies was able to obtain these accreditations by committing to its mission of academic excellence and adopting a system of continuous development and a culture of quality assurance based on certain principles, the most important of which are transparency and building trust between the institute and its students and higher education institutions locally and globally. He indicated that there are seven other programs in the process of submitting their accreditation files and that the institute is in the last stage of obtaining institutional accreditation.
It is noteworthy that the accreditation process goes through strict scrutiny steps and procedures by the accreditation body to verify the quality assurance standards of the educational institution subject to accreditation, and its fulfillment of the highest standards in the fields of education, research, administration, and student care. This includes the quality of the teaching plan, the quality of teaching, the good care and support of students in all fields, the robustness of published research, the competence of researchers, the quality and efficiency of administrative and technical work within the institute, in addition to cultural diversity within the institute environment itself.
