Library System Moves to Sierra from Symphony<div>As of July 09, 2015, the DI library will be operated through the Sierra Library S<span style="line-height:17.142858505249px;background-color:#ffffff;">ystem</span>. Previously, the library utilized the Symphony system. </div><div>A team from the Qatar National Library (QNL) held a training for DI Library staff on the Sierra system in order to facilitate this transition. As part of its support to Qatar in its journey to a knowledge-based economy, QNL has been performing a leading role in supporting libraries and librarianship in Qatar through conducting various training programs and providing advanced technical solutions to create an enhanced infrastructure for knowledge sharing​.</div><div>The DI Library catalog will be available to the public through its website from July 9, 2015. </div><div><br></div>Moving from Symphony to Sierra6/22/2015 9:00:00 PMAfghanistan

Enhancing the collaboration between Qatari libraries<p>​​​​​​​Inaam Charaf, the L​ibrary Director, participated in a research paper entitled "L<span style="line-height:19.2000007629395px;background-color:#ffffff;">ibraries' r</span>ole in knowledge building and social development: the <span style="line-height:19.2000007629395px;background-color:#ffffff;">Arab Center for Research and Policy Studies</span>​ library<span style="line-height:1.6;"> </span><span style="line-height:1.6;">as a model". </span></p><p><span style="line-height:1.6;">This paper was presented as part of a conference organized by Qatar University on the subject of enhancing the collaboration between Qatari libraries. </span></p><p><span style="line-height:1.6;">​The Conference was held at the Qatar University, on 25-26 March 2015.</span></p>Enhancing the collaboration between Qatari libraries3/25/2015 9:00:00 PMAfghanistan
