The Language Center at the Doha Institute for Graduate Studies implements the Institute's language policy, which recognizes Arabic as the primary language of instruction and regards English as a companion language in learning and scholarship.  In addition, the Center contributes to establishing and enhancing links between the DI and the international institutes of higher education and research.

In line with the DI's vision of promoting the status of Arabic as an international language of study and research, the Center offers its students specialized tailored training in Arabic for academic purposes.  This includes conducting academic research, writing graduation theses, and the skills of oral presentations and conference participation.  To comply with Qatar's policy of using Arabic as the official language of communication, effective the second semester, the Center offers its staff training in Arabic for professional purposes.

In addition, the Center offers courses in Arabic for non-native speakers and heritage learners.  Furthermore, the Center launched a specialized content/language module for the DI's prospective study abroad students:  DI Graduate Fellow Residence Program in Advanced Arabic Language and Social Studies.

The Center also implements the DI's English language admission and graduation policies and assists the students in meeting the requirements by offering training in academic English, with focus on analytical reading and oral discussions and presentations.
